Which band in history has been at a similar point to where Pearl Jam are now? Approaching a 30 year career, releasing less albums, but still around. Fans eagerly awating a new album. And how good were those albums?

Springsteen? He released a lot of albums between Greetings and Tunnel of Love, then it took something like 5 years to release Human Touch and Lucky Town, then another 3 for The Ghost of Tom Joad, then another 6(?) for The Rising.

Springsteen was roughly this age when he released the Rising and revived his career. It is certainly possible for Pearl Jam to do the same, but there are far too many other cases where bands with similar release patterns just fade into nostalgia acts or break up all together.

I can’t think of one that’s really the same. GNR disbanded during the long wait for Chinese Democracy, and the Stones didn’t even start to slow until the late 90s.
Maybe The Who?
When I was a kid, The Who just seemed to be completely gone. I think after Keith Moon died they were never the same. But I'm surprised if there aren't other bands.
Springsteen is a good example, although he is a solo artist, and not exactly what I was thinking of.

I would say The Rolling Stones for sure. PJ seem to be The Stones of their era.

I guess the next album can be compared to Voodoo Lounge then.

Wasn’t joking. Some pals have more info they’re not able to share yet and our guy has heard it. Or at least some version of it.
Welp. I tried.
Have fun, buddy.
