12 minutes in, 3 solid laughs. This isn't anywhere near the recent seasons' levels of complete hackery, but yeahhh, pretty lame so far. The joke about Lenny's head wound has been my favorite.

I'm watching Stark Raving Dad. I kinda hate this episode.

That's the season 2-est of the season 3 episodes

Yeah, this episode didn't do much to convince me of LV's claim that seasons 8-12 are part of the show's golden era. Not a lot of laughs, and a whole bunch of stilted, strained punchlines. But this is good, I'd like to continue revisiting these episodes, which I've mostly seen before but have long forgotten. I'm sure there are a few things worth finding.

Monty Can't Buy Me Love isn't a fantastic episode or anything. Here are my five favorite episodes from seasons 8-12:

8:
You Only Move Twice
Bart After Dark
The Springfield Files
Mountain of Madness
Homer's Phobia

9:
The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson
The Cartridge Family
Lisa the Skeptic
Das Bus
King of the Hill

10:
The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace
When You Dish Upon a Star
Homer to the Max
Maximum Homerdrive
Mom and Pop Art

11:
Beyond Blunderdome
Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner?
E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)
The Mansion Family
Missionary: Impossible

I absolutely love season 11. This is when they reached peak absurdity.

12:
A Tale of Two Springfields
Lisa the Tree Hugger
Skinner's Sense of Snow
Tennis the Menace
Simpson Safari

a pretty strong case can be made for season 8, especially if you extend the golden age run back to season 3 (I tend to start at 4)
