He says he wants to make the algorithms visible and open source, and authenticate anyone who wants it (rather than keep it limited to "important" people).

I figure he'll put a stop to some of the bannings and shadowbannings. Maybe the worst censorial types will leave the company.

I like it.

I guess Trump said last week he probably won’t rejoin Twitter if able, so that’s that!

If trump is unbanned what is the over/under before he comes back, even though he says he won’t?

0 chance he doesn't return in some capacity if unbanned

Yea, he wouldn’t be able to resist.

And Mickey, I suppose Twitter could get worse, but it’s already so stupid, so it’d be marginal.

people are saying they will leave twitter etc.

i just dont get it. you have the power to block accounts you dont want to see/hear from. you can mute key words. itll take about 20 minutes to cultivate your timeline to get rid of the hot messes you dont want to see but people are just too lazy

i bet elon makes it so everyone has to follow him like tom from myspace

Because they don't just want the ability not to hear things they disagree with (a power they already have). The point is to prevent everyone else from hearing wrongthink. The entire project is devoted to preventing the dissemination of "disinformation," in other words, the point is to be censors and arbiters of truth for everyone, a power they don't have.

Only Burt can be motivated by accumulation of power. Everyone else doing so is underhanded!

My road to power is promoting the ability for you to say stupid shit like this, not preventing it!
