I'm wondering what effect the long hiatus and particularly Eds touring solo, will have on this album. Will it be a big shredder rock album in response?
I can see that happening somehow.

Nope. This single is fully indicative. That was surely an objective statement by harmless.

Agreed. I suspect there will be some pleasant surprises though. I think they picked a relatively safe 1st single which is usually middle of the road on their albums.

I am sure because what I just described was the single itself. Even if the rest of the album is groundbreaking genius, this song will let it down. The atmospheric song we heard sounds potentially interesting but no more than that. It's not very interesting other than its dark mood and its apparently roomy production. I'm expecting the song as a whole to not be that.

I love harmless but he's an emtional flip flopper when it comes to Pj.
Which I understand completely. So objectivity isn't a factor really

Yeah. I would say that if this song is 'filler' (as something like 'Get Right' is on Riot Act), then we could have a special album.

for me, their last great album was Yield

Binaural was very good, Riot Act was decent....the rest, meh

i like the new single, let's hope the new one is good

I'm not flip-flopping. I haven't called MYM 'groundbreaking genius' once! I find it pleasantly surprising but nothing more.

I really wish i could wipe my knowledge of Pearl Jam and come into it fresh right now. I think it would be a fascinating exploration.
