wtf
Spoiler alert, but Daemon himself is a Targaryen.
In all seriousness, only a little bit spoiler-y:
- Spoiler: show
- Brynden Rivers (aka Bloodraven, aka the Three Eyes Raven, aka the guy in the tree beyond the Wall in GOT, aka the blotchy guy in Daemon’s vision) is a direct descendent of Daemon, his great-grandson I think, so he’s got a bit of that green sight in him, probably. Since HOTD has been working so hard to weave GOT into the show, they might even be suggesting that Daemon’s time at Harrenhal connected him and his descendants to the tree network, but that’s a stretch.
the
- Spoiler: show
- great bastard had a Blackwood mother and his rival bastard had a Bracken mother. The blackwoods keep the old gods
While I’m sure you’re right, that doesn’t mean the show doesn’t want us to make this connection.
Also, Mecca can check my work, but by my accounting, Daemon is Dany’s great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather (officially, there may be some contested parentage along the way).
I don’t feel like it, but the show skips Dany’s book grandfather when Aemon recounts his reaction to the news of the lannister forces killing the targaryeans in the war of the usurper

- Spoiler: show
- Sunfyre is really dead, right? For a second I thought they had committed to changing that part of the story, but there’s no way.
All those Daeron-heads are gonna “Enhance…enhance” that one quick shot of his dragon.
I was kind of surprised where the season ended, because it sure seems like Season 3 is going to contain, at a bare minimum:
- Spoiler: show
- The Fall of King’s Landing, the first Battle of Tumbleton, and the Battle of the Gullet. The Gods’ Eye probably comes in Season 4. Seeds were laid for all of these in this episode.
I missed the first spoiler asking about Sunfyre
- Spoiler: show
- everyone assumed Sunfyre was as good as dead in F&B, but basically through the power of love for Aegon held on

That’s where it seems to be going. Too bad viewers will forget who he is when this show returns in 2.5 years.

Finally watched this and.... the key going forward is to never let Sarah Hess anywhere near the writers room again. I was really struggling to understand why Rhaena just abandoned the kids when leaving the Vail and how Alicent was able to get to Dragonstone so quickly through the blockade. Scenes with Jayce were great though as they are actually spending time developing that character (assuming this is a setup for him catching his mom banging one of the new riders at some point) and Steve Toussaint has been crushing every second he's on the screen. Over the season it often seemed like Toussaint was the only person who spent the time to read/watch GoT and actually understand the characters and what made that story and the show so great, where Alicent and Rhaenyra felt like 'modern' characters fitted into the story, the Sea Snake felt authentic, and that's what Toussaint has done that the others have not.

Yeah, I tried to remain open minded but her shit sucks. So much pointless stuff that would be right at home in a fanfic from Tumblr. Awful, self-indulgent and downright embarrassing.

Just finished. Rhaenyra and Alicent were alone in a room and didn’t even kiss. Wtf? That’s that bullshit.

I rewatched season one and have one more episode to go in season two. What a mixed bag.
This show definitely peaked here:
- Spoiler: show

That was a great example of elevating the source material and it’s a shame how they lose it for the rule of cool in the episodes after. I’m rewatching the first season of GoT and what makes it so good are the small moments between characters that both world build and advance the plot
