Everyone in my neighborhood has a snow shovel for cleaning up sweet gum seed pods. Sometimes they get used for snow.

The neighbor kid just borrowed it to walk around and try to make some money. How much of a cut should I ask for?

I'd go with a subscription service. $5 a month paid in one lump sum of $80 every January.

We’re supposed to be well south and west of the worst of this one, but it’s already snowing and sticking on the roads so I’m wondering if we’ll actually get slammed.

we got like 4 inches now
took a look out back and i see a neighbor's tree dropped a massive 15-20 foot limb and smashed a section of my fence
looks like it fell in between two arborvitae though so fingers crossed won't need to replace those
he has some extra sections on the back where another neighbor double-fenced so in the spring i think we can cannibalize those and replace the section
if this really is 2 feet at this wet/heaviness this will be a very bad storm
saw that the town south of me already 10% have lost power
seems almost inevitable the rest of us will too
i will need to print out pornography on paper to get through this

High winds? 4” shouldn’t take down a tree.

it was a sick looking tree ... lumpy stuff on the trunk and usually drops little bits during storms. the woodpeckers like it which means there are prob infestations of bugs in it. it's huge too, like 30-40 feet tall
we had already been through a month of concrete ice which likely weakened it. plenty of single digit temp days
but yes there are some pretty big wind gusts right now so that was prob what did it
