Big Baroness fan, I even interviewed them when they came to BA
Haha wtf? That's awesome. I'm sure you said you weren't really into metal and asked for some entry points. Maybe you were trolling me!

I probably did. I still wouldn't say I'm "into metal" as I'm only familiar with a few bands. But yeah I've been listening to Baroness since around Yellow and Green

I generally enjoy what I hear of Fontaines DC but don't go seek them out particularly. I do however love Grian Chatten's new solo album, that is a lush, lazy groove. I've always enjoyed accented singing and this hits the sweet spot.

Jay Watson is a member of Tame Impala and a founding member of Pond, and hails from my own home town of Perth WA. He releases solo as GUM and his latest album is a really fine listen. Fans of both bands above won't be surprised at what's on here but he keeps it interesting without getting too freaky.

I was gonna link to album opener Race to the Air, but that's just too close to Tame Impala to show you anything different, so here's album closer It Lies a Lifetime instead.

Not sure if the new Paper Kites has been talked about but it's lovely. Great back story too. Mercy is my fave but this one seeps in slowly too.

I really enjoyed their album "Roses" from 2021. This one hasn't grabbed me as much (what I've heard), but I haven't given it a proper listen yet.

I can not remember anything about this song but it's somehow popped up in my 'some songs from 2023 draft' play list. I must have been drunk when I added this. I have great taste when I'm drunk it seems.

I think Burt may enjoy this.
