I'm about half way through Vancouver and it's pretty great. MInd Your Manners and In Hiding are both incredible.

If you could recommend two shows from 2013 what would those be?

What file are you downloading from PJ.com for importing into iTunes?

Im not sure about what shows you should get because I've only heard Vancouver but I downloaded the flac from PJ.com then converted it to mp3 so I could put into iTunes.

matt reeder wrote:The last four shows from 2013 are up. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess one or multiple of them are going to be fucking awesome. My money's on Calgary, but I know Vancouver was excellent from the audience recording.

EDIT: Judging by the samples on Nugs, Calgary is DEFINITELY the show. Everything sounds dead on, Ed sounds pretty good and the band is really tight.
Calgary is certainly the one to beat. Very tight main set with not a single mention of alcohol (though Ed more than makes up for this in the encore).

There's seems to be a mixing screw up in GTF and Infallible though - Matt's cymbals in the left channel are about a second ahead of the rest of the song which makes for a headache inducing listen in the chorus. Could this be a rare fuck-up by the illustrious Brett Eliason?

I wouldn't put it past Matt to really be out of time... especially on this tour. He's losing me lately, and needs to go back to SG for good!

I do love how Ed sings that list bit of "Alone" on the Hartford boot without any backing from the band. Then it's totally ruined by going into "Unthought Known." Oh well.

Did anybody buy the Phoenix 24bit FLAC from PJ.com? I just realized that the first five tracks of disc two are 16/44 while the rest of the show is the 24/96 I paid for. Anybody else notice this?

The affected tracks are:

D2 T1 Wishlist
D2 T2 Infallible
D2 T3 Do The Evolution
D2 T4 Once
D2 T5 1/2 Full

I sent an email off to PJ.com, so hopefully they'll fix it, but I just noticed after having the show for a week, so I thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else hadn't noticed.

I was thinking about downloading the HD Flacs, burning an AUDIO CD, and then importing the CD into iTunes via Apple Lossless so that I get the best quality I can for my iPod Nano, which I use at the gym. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't even fool around with iTunes.

No need to burn a cd. I convert the HD FLAC files straight to Apple Lossless on my Mac all the time, using an app called xAct or another called Max. I'm sure there has to be a Windows equivalent option, too, if you don't have a Mac.

I haven't listened to the west coast shows yet, but from the east coast set I'd take Hartford and Charlottesville

How do people successfully make tour compilations? Do they buy flacs of all the shows? Or just find them around the internet?

You've still downgraded in quality since the sample rate of CD is lower than the HD Flac.

Isn't there an Apple app that plays regular FLAC? Leehro's app?
