watched Django last night...btw, the 'D' is silent.
just not a huge fan of Tarantino, never have been. i mean, it's not like i hate him, but i don't gush all over him like so many do.
i watched the movie with two Tarantino fan boys and it made the movie that much worse. "oh my god, he's a genius", "look at the way he positions people", "his use of music is uncanny", "he is a god".
these dudes need to watch more movies.

At first I thought the trailer ruined the movie, but its pretty obvious and dumb anyway. Lots of scenes of characters slowly trying to figure out shit the entire audience already knows. A few tedious love scenes with characters we know little about and care about even less. A few moronic action sequences. Tom Cruise. This movie's got it all!

This was filmed and is set in Schenectady, near where I live, so this whole area is tripping over themselves to get a piece of this movie. It has three distinct sections. I loved the first and half of the third, not really the second. Fwiw
I'm hoping to see either 'No' or '42'this week. I haven't decided yet.

I'm pretty excited for A Place Beyond the Pines. I'm sure it won't be Blue Valentine. But I'm still excited. Should've seen it tonight, but I'm gonna wait and see it with the wife.

Blue Valentine is just a tremendous movie. This is one is definitely similar in a lot of ways, but perhaps not as compelling all the way through. Def worth seeing

Blue Valentine has become one of my favorite films of the last 10 years. And it has surprising replay value. It hurts but I can watch it over and over again. It's gorgeous and brutal. Tremendous is a great word for it.

Wait, are you watching it right now? Stop posting while you're watching it! That film deserves your undivided attention.

I'm thinking about watching Moon tonight. I'd never heard of it but my brother said it is good. Came out in 2009 and is about a Lunar Station. Anyone?

Because I loathe Harmony Korine.
