Most of the best Washington restaurants are in VA or MD

DC is mostly super overpriced tourist traps or bar food you could get anywhere else. And on NYE the good places are going to be insanely packed. If you’re in DC your best bet is to take the metro out of the city and get some South Asian, Ethiopian, or sushi.

Funny you should say this, our first meal was Vietnamese in Silver Spring.

Since then have had Laotian, Chinese, Ramen, Chinese/Peruvian, and today is Dominican for lunch and Jamaican for dinner, and Soul food for the last meal tomorrow. Some kinda bougie cause that's my girlfriend's family's taste, but all good food. I've really enjoyed the city, the art and architecture are beautiful, folks are pretty friendly, and I like how it's layed out. Glad we came.
