They are a judgement of how much I like a song, based on all possible/reasonable influences, may that be within their own catalog and/or amongst all others.

To be fair, I do like the "remixed" non-brickwalled version a bit more. That improved the thing a bit for me.

I think so. Both abrasive, fast, dissonant, muddy rockers with harsh vocals from Eddie.
