bune wrote:Why is it so hard to accept that Thanos won at the end of the movie? I'm not pointing fingers here because I've seen the same arguments on several boards and Twitter and articles across several websites where they can't believe the movie didn't happen the way they thought it should have. Like everyone attacking Star Lord for punching Thanos. Or Dr. Strange for giving the gem up/not making a portal to cut the arm off. Or any number of other plot points that people are bringing up. He won. The story in the comics has him winning, why would you assume it would be any different here?
This doesn't sound like people upset that he won, it sounds like people pointing out some of the weaker plot points
All of Doctor Strange's actions make sense. He saw the one future where the good guys win. Presumably he saw Tony alive there, so knew he had to save him.

I saw someone today compare it to when Tony freaked out in Civil War. He and Cap were on common ground finally - shaky ground to be sure, but it was getting better - and then he found out about what Bucky did and just lost it. Same thing here. It was going ok, things were looking up, and then Quill found out about Gamora.

And another point I forgot to add: People who are writing "headcanon" to explain things. Like I saw one person who said, "Obviously Stange put Ant-Man in the gauntlet and that's what's going to take him down in A4." Really. Really?

Kinda glad he won too.. if that doesn't happen it's just basically like any other of the superhero movies where the good guy beats the bad guy and the movie ends
This gets people talking and anticipation sky high for 4

Maybe Groot will regrow out of Thor's axe handle

I buy that decision/characterization for Quill, especially if he has to acknowledge it later.
A hubris moment I noticed on a later viewing - had Thor not taken the time to gloat and hit Thanos again he might have killed him

This is a fun listen.
Thanos is coming! (so are spoilers) The Hawkeye of Survival Podcasts returns. This week Gordo from Those Conspiracy Guys joins the super team, where we try to survive the coming of Thanos, the snap, and an Infinity War. *Correction: On second viewing, it was actually 14,000,605 possible futures that Doctor Strange saw
Gordon Rochford is the host of Those Conspiracy Guys (https://thoseconspiracyguys.com/) and is currently trying to secure crowdfunding for his latest project, check it out here: https://www.gofundme.com/tcgtv
So there's pictures out there of Iron Man, Captain America (in phase one costumes) and Ant Man at the battle in LA having been filmed for the next film

Or....it's got something to do with the Quantum Realm and the multi-verse

After all, the madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets...
Thanks for the clarification! Def looking forward to IV, debating on seeing it again this weekend...also looking forward to more HawkEye as well (I must be the only one who like's Renner's character)

This was better than Avengers 2. Probably on par with Avengers 1. The space stuff was cool. Had plenty of issues though overall.

For as much as the ending was built up by people I walked away pretty disappointed. What a cop out.
I apologize that I am coming to the conversation so late.
