I don't know, dude. The first ten seconds of When Doves Cry are transcendental.

I honestly prefer the acoustic version of Kiss (It might even be the demo version? its barely over a minute long)
really reminds me of the Musicology tours solo / acoustic sets.

This song is somewhat obscure, but I always thought it contained some of his most tasteful playing. This is a live version, not sure from when. I saw him in Holland about five years ago and he played this -- showed up a lot in the live sets around that time. The studio version is great, too. Wonderful to see a veritable avalanche of live material hit YouTube. Too bad it took him passing for that to occur.
After receiving the April 20th emergency call, Dr. Kornfeld dispatched his son Andrew Kornfeld to Prince's Paisley Park compound to discuss a treatment plan with the artist. Andrew Kornfeld arrived the following morning and Prince was found alone and unresponsive in his elevator. It was also Kornfeld who made the 911 call to Minnesota police alerting them of the situation.
"We're at Prince’s house," Andrew Kornfeld told 911 dispatchers, unsure of the address. "The people are just distraught… We're in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and we are at the home of Prince." At the time, Kornfeld was carrying a small amount of buprenorphine, a medication that helps curb addiction to painkillers.
"The plan was to quickly evaluate his health and devise a treatment plan," William Mauzy, the Kornfeld family's lawyer, told the newspaper. "The doctor was planning on a lifesaving mission."
That list is amazing...i mean, songs for Jupiter Ascending? with a video?? A concept album for Robin? A free jazz album??
....And Purple Rain 2 : the purpling.

I can't believe that he recorded stuff with Ween and Dave Pirner. Mind blown.

The Prince-relevant part of McCready's interview with Rolling Stone:
I still can't believe this news about Prince.
I keep getting texts. It's devastating and shocking. I remember one time we met him. He was really cool. I asked him a silly guitar question, and he said he didn't know what he did to get his sound, but his tech would know. And then he said he was very into our Ticketmaster battle. I think this was at a party in 1995. It felt really good to know he was behind our Ticketmaster battle.
I must have seen him four or five times times in concert. Every time I was like, "OK, he is the best guitar player I've ever seen." I'd go to his show and get completely blown away by his technique, and mostly just his feel and how fast he could play. He can stop and just milk the notes. He was just so phenomenal on the guitar. And then a year would pass and I'd forget and I'd see him again and go, "He's still the best guitar player I've ever seen in my life." And I've seen a lot. He just blew my mind.
Got the rolling stone special of Prince....man, i miss him. Im listening to Nothing Compares 2 You...wow, those lyrics. Goddamn.

Was listening to Tom Petty talks to cool people with susanna Hoffs of the bengals and they played Manic Monday. Never realized how much the melody is similar to Prince 1999. And then they told me that Prince actually wrote manic monday.
Ill be damned.

My wife and I were in a record store today, and she suddenly shouts out, "RIBS!" She's a much bigger Prince fan than me, and I didn't even realize he was playing on the stereo system--she told me it's her favorite Prince lyric of all time.
