Not sure where to post this but I'll be interviewing Baroness one week from tomorrow. I don't know much about the band beyond listening to Yellow & Green and liking it, so if anyone has any suggestions for questions, you'd be saving me some research time

For a minute there I was looking at their Wikipedia and wondering why I couldn't find the album from them I remembered listening to and I finally figured out I was thinking of Priestess, not Baroness.

I'll ask them if they ever considered changing their name to Priestess

We're on page 311 of this thread, so in honor of PHATJ, I am reminiscing on this incredible story
Former Creed lead singer Scott Stapp and members of the band 311 were involved in a fight on Thanksgiving in the lounge of a luxury hotel, according to hotel security staff and 311 members.
311 were in Baltimore for a weekend concert when several members ran into Stapp earlier that day, band drummer Chad Sexton told The Associated Press. Both Stapp and 311 have the same producer, and Sexton said there were no problems during the first meeting.

But Stapp later came into the Harbor Court Hotel bar while Sexton and bandmates SA Martinez and P-Nut were watching basketball on television. He stepped in front of the screen and said, "311, I am ready to fight," according to Sexton.

Sexton said the band tried to defuse the situation, and Stapp went to the bar to drink. Later, he made "inappropriate" comments to Martinez's wife, and was confrontational with Sexton.

"All of a sudden, he clocked me in the left side of my face," Sexton said. "Then a huge fight broke out."

During the melee, Martinez broke a finger and later went to the hospital to have a cast put on his hand. Security guards eventually broke up the brawl. Police were called, but no arrests were made, according to hotel security.

"It was an unfortunate incident," Sexton said. "We are not brawlers."

I’m being peer pressured to get into idles and girl band.

I really don’t like being pressured. I tend to harden up when it happens

Well, if you ever preferred Colin Moulding’s work in XTC, now’s your time to shine

This is not a particularly great cover, but it made me realize how similar voices Neil Young and Thom Yorke have.

I’m afraid to listen to the new National record.

What if I don’t like it?

I started listening to the Flobots first album and I was immediately put in the mind of Optimus Rhyme, so much so I wondered if it was a pun on Go-Bots. But no. :(

I love the National but my wife just absolutely can't get enough and wants to listen to them all the time and I kind of want to change it up with something new. What bands are similar to them that you could recommend, in the way that they're interesting, mellow(ish), the singer sounds cool and somewhat comfortable and relaxed, extremely depressed, etc... ?

I listened to a couple of Broken Social Scene albums a while ago. I had the You Forgot it in People cd and played it a lot.. not sure why I bought it.. I thought it was just OK, if not pretty dull... Do they have a better album you'd recommend? What would you recommend from Interpol?

I think I loved it at the time but I can't imagine getting into it again for some reason.. there's something that turns me off about remembering his voice or the way he sings or something.. the chick singer lingers fondly however, in that park your car .. drop your phone or whatever song.. and I like the music in that song
