This 10C dog and pony show will all be moot if its a good album.

You could be totally right.Walker Bait wrote:I personally think it's part of sirens.... it was said to be layered and that mike's guitar had effects on it and that it was more "ballady". Thursday... if you need help remembering that just think the THIRD day.Strat wrote:Fanboi strat was just disappointed he had to be caged for a little while longer
You're smarter than this Joey. It's like others have said. Pearl Jam tours all the time, sure, they're still special to a lot of people, but when they tout an announcement like this in a hyped up way they've never done before, it's not unfair to expect more than just a tour announcement. On top of that, the Internet is global. They set this countdown knowing they have legions of fans worldwide and then they had an underwhelming announcement that only matters to people who live near the water in the United States.durdencommatyler wrote:Bands tour. Pearl Jam is a touring band. Would I have loved an album announcement? Of course. But this isn't it. Fine. I just don't see what all the vitriol is about. I haven't seen them on stage in years. I'm pretty fucking pumped that they're coming to Brooklyn.Strat wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:But, as everyone is so found of mentioning, it's been four years. But they have been - mostly - touring for the past 4 years. handful of shows each year. and the PJ20 tour wasn't so long ago. this is nothing new or exciting. What an abortion this has become!
Yes- This is what is most frustrating for me. You nailed itStrat wrote:stip wrote:Strat wrote:The disappointment is also magnified by the less than inspiring "North America Tour"
yeah, I suspect the real issue here is that people are bummed they no longer do massive tours.
Not even that. They could do far more interesting tours in 20-25 shows than their "par-for-the course" east coast/west coast stops.
That's all PJ these days, no?HardTI wrote:I expect this to be their standard Save You, Got Some, etc type rocker. I'll probably dig it when I'm in the mood for a generic rock track.harmless wrote:Mind you, if Ed's delivery and the melody is interesting, it could lift the song.

I just don't see the issue. Could it have been better executed? Yes, I've already said as much. But this certainly isn't worthy of the vitriol that's being thrown around.cutuphalfdead wrote:You're smarter than this Joey. It's like others have said. In the end, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't change the release schedule for the new album (whatever that is). Fans will still get the new music at the same time as they were always going to get it, and they'll still be touring the same places they were going to tour regardless of how they announced it. But in the end, this is just another lame thing this band did. They seem to do lame things pretty regularly at this point.
