I have no idea what my wife is making tonight. I have to imagine it'll be veggie heavy, though.

wease wrote:I wa gonna make scallops tonight, but the only ones they had looked shitty, so I went for lobster tails instead. Cheaper, too. So tonight is lobster tails and risotto. I've never made risotto before so we got this kit for the first time. Looking forward to it.

One-Dish Creamy Beef & Noodles. I hope it's the right recipe. I just know my dad made something like this all the time and I'm hankering for it. I googled (and I don't really recommend this with safe search off) beef and creamy white sauce with noodles.

Considering google didn't exist in the 80s...

His mom was from Czechoslovakia and he got most of his recipes from her. My mom is a terrible cook so he almost always cooked for us. Though he did like okra...that one's beyond me.

Ah right

I’m sure there’s Czech food pages would have it or something like the one you want.

Czech food always seems really heavy to me. I’ve only been there once but you’re full less than half way through the dish in front of you

I would have never imagined beef and cream together but that sounds tasty.

And I over-cooked the meat. The sauce and noodles were great but the meat was just too tough. Ugh.

Something I noticed after the fact is that the picture of the recipe is not what the recipe gives you if you follow the directions. For example, there are noticeable mushrooms in the picture but none in the recipe. On top of that (no pun intended) is the sauce is clearly separate from the noodles yet the directions tell you to cook the noodles in the sauce.

Huh. They are basically the same thing...and I wager that stroganoff is more what I was looking for. Next time!

Spicy chicken wings n chips n coleslaw
Using franks original red hot sauce. I love this stuff. Perfect when you mix it with butter for the coating. I like to let em sit in it for a while n marinade. So tasty.
I know that some of you will say it’s horrible stuff and there’s better hot sauces. Any suggestions appreciated.
