Re: Pearl Jam Countdown
I've listened to it three times in the last two weeks. Is that regularly? Anyway, yeah, I dig Backspacer.rar358 wrote:Please tell me I'm not the only one that still listens to Backspacer regularly.durdencommatyler wrote:It is pretty interesting to see so many people say over and over again that they don't care much for the band's recent output; that they don't have much faith that the next one will be good, even. Re: Pearl Jam Countdown
when the clock struck 0 i refreshed my computer and the clock jumped back up to three days. before scrolling down i thought they had just really fucked up. i laughed.
Then i scrolled down and saw the tour dates. I was excited to see they will be playing west coast shows but they already told us they would be months ago.
Rolling out the album details before the shows would have made sense but if we're getting some info on thurs i can live with it.
I've got faith this album will be good.

If they(we) still didn't like the band or think they could write good music I have to believe we wouldn't be in here. It's a message board so what disappointment that's there is probably going to fleshed out and exaggerated way more than is actually felt.durdencommatyler wrote:I wasn't really talking about you. I didn't really have a specific poster in mind, really. Your post just made me think about how much I've seen the "I don't have faith in them anymore" sentiment over the last year or two (especially). Today, I'm sure some of those same people (though, I'm not sure, because I haven't checked specific people) feel angry that there isn't new music. Just interesting.stonefury wrote:For the record, you will never find any sort of comments from me. Re: Pearl Jam Countdown
Yea, I still listen to it on occasion but not as much as S/T and Binaural. For the record, although I would never claim the newer albums are better than the older ones, the majority of my PJ listening revolves around the newer material since Binaural...rar358 wrote:Please tell me I'm not the only one that still listens to Backspacer regularly.durdencommatyler wrote:It is pretty interesting to see so many people say over and over again that they don't care much for the band's recent output; that they don't have much faith that the next one will be good, even. Well, good thing I didn't stay up for that or anything. I'm a little baffled as to why they just announced tour dates when it seems obvious that they're going to be in support of the new record, but hey.
I really like the sound of those two clips.

It's sort of like if Mike had done an interview several years ago and delivered the setup of what has the potential to be a really, really good joke.durdencommatyler wrote:It is pretty interesting to see so many people say over and over again that they don't care much for the band's recent output; that they don't have much faith that the next one will be good, even. Re: Pearl Jam Countdown
But RM is a fascinating community, in that there are actually more than a few regular posters who dislike or have fallen out of love with Pearl Jam. I don't see that very often on the internet. And it speaks well of the community, I think. There's something about this place that goes beyond fandom for one band. Even if that was what initially brought folks here. It's not necessarily what keeps them here.Thejambi wrote:If they(we) still didn't like the band or think they could write good music I have to believe we wouldn't be in here. I adore Pearl Jam still. BUT, if this place forever deleted the PJ Forum... I'd still check in and post here frequently (if not daily). Pearl Jam isn't what really keeps me coming back to RM.

Oh, no, totally. It's a really great joke. That's why everyone appreciates it.
