Overall, possibly. But the artwork isn't the main problem with Backspacer; it's the fact that the songs don't quite reach their potential, and one or two of them are plain bad. The production issues aren't as much of an issue as those ones, but the overall 'glossy' pop feel didn't help. The artwork was fine, and would've improved a better album but the album was lacking to start with. All of which might be true of Lightning Bolt, but we'll have to see. I personally feel that any album, if it's pretty good in the first place, can be strengthened a lot by great artwork. That's why getting an album artwork gig as an artist would terrify me. I could make the album sink or swim in some people's minds.

I wouldn't worry about this. MYM (to my mind) criticises the religious for always giving "God's love" as a solution to everything, so the artwork might satirise that a little. But in the end, love is something we need. Not *all* we need, but humanity could do with some good old secular reconciliation. So yeah; pointless post really, just to say I'm not worried about the hearts yet. Iconic faux-religious imagery again.
