I watched Birth while sick with a really bad fever and I'm not sure how much of the movie I actually saw vs. how much I hallucinated.

Yeah Birth is really intense in a strange way. I watched it at USC and it made a big impression on me.

The "seduction" scenes in Under the Skin were one of the better examples of the music video style of directing being used to create a really interesting set of images and ideas. Glazer should do more sci-fi. His take on it was really original IMO.

-The Gate (1987) Insanely dark and aggressive horror movie starring all children (Burt, this is up your alley). Some of the most impressive blending of special effects methods I've ever seen.

-The Judge (2014) Pretty much exactly what I expected. Very formulaic, but engaging nevertheless, largely because Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall are both fantastic in it. Also, this movie's butt-ugly 35mm cinematography proves that focusing on shooting on film over digital is missing the point; your movie doesn't automatically look good or better just because you chose film.

Robocop reboot. I didnt realize how many well known actors were in this.

What a great film. A long time since i last seen it; and its as powerful as always. Freeman and Pitt should do more work together.
