Listened to some relatively recent performances by Ed today while doing some dishes (Star is Born cover, I Am So Tired, Warren Zevon cover, etc.). Would love to see the band explore that sound with the new album. His voice can still sound really warm and authentic.

Please no more 3 minute punk rockers.

i don't think i have any of those (other than youtube), and don't even know how to listen to mp3s anymore now that streaming has taken over our house

I suspect atmosphere is in the ear of the beholder here - some people actually like Pendulum, for instance.

yeah that's what I'm trying to ascertain. I think they referred to LB as a "classic Pearl Jam record"? So I'm skeptical of this "atmospheric," but I'd love it to be true.

maybe "atmospheric" means that the anthems reach so high into the atmosphere

when has this band ever veered away from a straightforward, paint-by-numbers album in the past 20 years?
