The last time something big happened there, weren't (some) flights suspended for days or more? Hope you have some flexibility in your return flight. On the upside, your reason for extending your vacation being "Volcanic eruption" can't really be argued with.

When this shit happened on the East Coast, at least the excuse was, it was a pile of PVC pipes* instead of a pile of pallets. Storing flammable material under a freeway seems like a bad idea. Knowing a homeless encampment is next door is extra insane.

*Those tweekers had to work to get that to start

yes, i remember the last time well. my MIL and BIL were in england sweating getting back home to australia.

we do have flexibility, since the whole fam will be there and the wife is there for work anyway, so could work out of their global HQ. the kid is already missing a week of school, so that'd be the main thing to get back to, but it's also preschool so not the end of the world.

i'm more concerned with getting there atm, as it seems this thing could pop today giving it 36 hours or so to smoke up the skies. also, did i see mount etna in italy is erupting right now as well?

Shakira's legal troubles with this particular have been going on for quite some time, I pretty much forgot about it and was surprised it's actually going to trial. I would expect if she can disclose that she has in fact paid the back taxes plus interest it will be over.

From what I can tell her claim is she didn't actually live in Barcelona between 2012 and 2014, only fully moving there in 2015
