Low 60s and raining was just what the doctor ordered this morning. The heat and humidity were sucking the life out of me.

Finally back to running 5 and 6 milers on the reg. Feels good.

It's hot as FUCK here right now. So, I'll get up at like 6am tomorrow to try and beat the heat. Aiming for another 5.

Holiday weekend here completely threw me off my routine, and I'm struggling to find free time to get back into it before I fly to LA on Friday.
Street running is tough. But I live only a mile from Prospect Park.

Ive been super obsessed with my heart rate and calories burned on my weight loss journey.

Long hikes - My heart rate averages 130 bpm

Indoor Spin workouts on my bike averages 145 bpm. And these workouts include super hard bursts of energy getting it up to above 170 bpm. Intense workouts!

However, on my run back at the lake my heart rate average was 160! 4 miles. I wasn't sprinting, 8:30 pace. I was just surprised at the level my heart was working on an easy run compared to other exercises I have been pushing myself at.

Long story short: Im thinking i should throw in a few runs per week. was shocked that my heart was working that hard because i felt like it was a breeze.

5.06 rainy but easy bayou miles this morning. I do not think I need to scale back, as I mentioned on the previous page. Left the headphones off so I could hear all the wildlife wake up. The prairie banks along the bayou are teeming with herons, frogs, rabbits and june bugs. They all seem to have a lot happening for them at dawn.
