Over/under for tomorrow? I'll set it at 35.
Oh I'd take the under.
28. You would've won.
Phew! Closer than I thought.

He could tell his clown-ass followers to wear masks in public.
He could also direct the Senate to pass additional stimulus plans that would allow more people to stay at home. Wouldn't save the people already exposed but it would certainly help cut down on spread.
These.
There'a shit ton the man could do. I'm not interested in letting him off the hook. He's fucked up all the way so far but that's no excuse. A lot can still be done right now.
Well, he doubled down today on "one day it will just disappear".

Yea. I thought Self's over/under was way too high, but... shit... I've convinced myself we can relax a little bit during the summer (in most places), but now I'm not so sure. My state is doing awesome but no state can fully control its own fate.

States where we don't fight wearing masks are doing better. We can control some of it. No one here in CT is whining about masks, we all get it, and we have the lowest transmission rate. So yeah, we can do stuff to make it easier.

Things are perhaps calmer in the northeast now due to mask compliance but it's probably more nuanced than that. Maybe it also has to do with the fact Rona ripped through your region early?
California is also a shit show and they have a blue gov who locked down very early.
The virus is smarter than this mask compliance phased roll out bullshit. The virus has beat us.

Is the virus smarter or is it tied to what you just said - the places that got hit hard are taking it more seriously, and doing better. Honestly, other than a few older people, I don't know anyone who just completely abandoned life/seeing people. We've been good at following rules.

It seems more than incidental that two of the states with the worst numbers did a more or less full re-open a month ago, and the third is right next to a re-open hotspot (Arizona).

I don’t get what the big deal is having to wear a mask around other people.

Southern AZ/NV (where casinos reopened) border counties reporting some of the highest levels of confirmed cases relative to population in the entire state, while more northern rural counties have significantly lower rates, but surely that doesn't mean anything. Also California had a partial reopen during this same period.
