That's no "siren" at the beginning, to my ears, it's a delayed electric guitar.
I still don't hear the strings or keys, just Mike playing some pretty effected lead guitar.
The way you can hear Matt's snare and cymbals ring out, I'm certain it's being performed live, not a playback.
I'm about 10 pages behind in this discussion, so sorry for the rehash. . .
I heard the soundcheck song for the first time last night and I don't hear a siren. To me it sounds like a one note organ intro.
I really like the Zeppelin vibe it has and the abrupt Queens of the Stone Age type stops. A song like this could redeem the pure cheesiness of Future Days.
This is also the first song I've heard from the modern incarnation of the band that reminds me of the Vs. Vitalogy era. I wonder if they would ever revisit unfinished songs from that time, or if they would see it as too nostalgic. For example, Mike had mentioned some song called "Indian Beetles" that I figured would show up on the Vs/Vitalogy Box Set, but never did.
Definitely, well not 100%, but something emulating a siren sound to me.

So apparently Lightning Bolt isn't an album but a 'multimedia project.' Each song comes with a mini-film, hence the artwork for each song title.
This *could* explain those David Lynch reports we heard a couple of months back.

The artwork feels like a new take on some of Klausen's work. Not quite as ornate, but he had a lot of symmetrical/hidden images in his stuff. The new art has more hearts.

Does anyone think we'll get three crooked hearts and swirls all around anywhere?

It feels like the currently dying internet trend of those retro-modern 'Eastern European' takes on movie posters.

Looks like the art so far is going to spell out Pearl Jam...but they are releasing it backwards...(M.A.J.L.RA.E.P.)...
Future Days looks like an M and Sirens Kind of looks like an A...If the next piece has a J in there then we'll know if I';m correct.
I didn't know which topic to put this in so I put it in this and Lighning Bowolt tracklist topic.

If a rock band is putting out a new album, and each song on the album is turned into a picture of a letter in the bands name, and the bands name is Pearl Jam how many songs will their album have?
good luck class>
