I mentioned The Smile's new album earlier in the thread. To me, I've always felt like Radiohead (and now The Smile) is somewhat like this generation's Pink Floyd and Pearl Jam is somewhat like this generation's The Who.

For me, I always have a confusing time of it at first, and then I fall in love with all of it. It's been that way with every Radiohead album and now The Smile as well.

It took me a while to realize that I can love both RH/Smile and PJ. They scratch very different itches.

When a new Pj album comes out . I go and see my friends. Johnny yells "got some" Of course I got some!! I exclaim then we raise our glasses of Supersonic Fixer Spritzer. Then get down at the speed sound.

Friend of a Friend is the most melodic song Thom's written in 25 years. I could imagine the milkman whistling that.
