I didn't get mine yet but is the packaging any more special than any other vinyl? What does this have to do with scratching and popping finger prints? It's always someone else's fault with them. Was this also sabotage?

Speaking of record storage, dime do you think you could build a couple of shelves to hold my records? I'm struggling a little at the moment with my current setup:

After ten or so listens all the way through, this is how I listen to LB now:

Always listen: Getaway, Sirens, Infallible, Pendulum, Yellow Moon

Sometimes listen: LB, MYM, Swallowed Whole, MFS

Never listen: FD, SBM, LTRP

So 5,4,3. Not bad. Compared to the other albums for me:

Got my delicious vinyl today and ftr, it sounds good. Thanks for all you do 10c!

I purposely stopped playing this thing for a week b/c I was listening too much and I heard the 4 song sampler with shitty sound a ton and then Sirens ad nauseum and my full album experience was essentially ruined (ruined, I tell ya). I envy the No Leak Club (for a few different reasons). So anyway, with a week off and returning like the prodigal son with an affinity for vinyl, the songs that stood out were:

Getaway - I've probably played this more than any other song and it just doesn't get old. Love Jeff's bass melody and Ed's lyrics/delivery especially.
My Father's Son - it's all about that bass (again) and it really helped to read the lyrics along with Ed singing. Menacing and Binaural-ish.
Lightning Bolt - this song has gotten 5% better every time I listen to it. When I heard it at Wrigley I was profoundly unsettled. Unsettled. Profundity. Now it's scratching my Empty Glass with Who guitars itch.
Swallowed Whole - this might be the best song on the album. Fantastic energy and tasteful bridge. Ed might sound better here than he has in years. Drown, drown, drown, drown.
Sleeping by Myself - I can't believe it either. I was loud in my complaints about this being on the record at all, but I didn't expect the subtle curve ball (not 12 to 6) they threw us here with the arrangement. In short, it makes me happy. Nothing else needs to be said. "Now I believe in nothing / Not today as I pull myself out of your sight." There's been a trillion songs on heartbreak, but I've never quite heard it like this.

The only stuff I find myself skipping are LTRP and FD. But I think LTRP is fun where FD is superfluous.

I need another 6 months or so before truly placing it in the catalogue, but I think I'm giving it a 7 out of 10, riding semi-high amongst the waves alongside Backspacer and S/T and Riot Act.
