Totally. I thought it was in the bag and damn near had a panic attack

Lots and lots of pacing.... I don't know how coaches do it. Steel nerves I suppose.
jwfocker wrote:man Clemson got lucky. That should have been a blow out. Not sure what the play calling approach was in the 2nd half but it was pure shit. Hate seeing those running plays for Watson as well. That dude is amazing and is too good of a passer to run and is way to fragile to take hits. Clemson just needs to let that guy pass the ball.
I don't know, I would say that ND was actually lucky to have a shot. Clemson pretty much dominated them the entire game. I feel like Clemson should have won 31 to 10 or something like that.
That game was a tough one to get the passing game going due to the weather, but those designed run plays by the QB do indeed scare me. When Tajh Boyd was the QB, I didn't mind, b/c he was like 230lbs. He's kind of a hoss QB. Deshaun Watson is taller and skinnier. He needs to stay more in the pocket and just run to escape should the pocket collapse. If Watson goes down, Clemson's season is gonna take a hit. I think the back-up is ok enough to manage a game, but he's not gonna do much, other than playing smart, to help the team win.
The Tigers are deep at RB, then need to let #24 (Zac Brooks) run / catch out of the backfield more. #22, Ty Dye, is a very physical runner. Plagued by injuries but is 100% this season. Also, the starter, #9 Wayne Gallman, is proving to be a very reliable back. He too is physical, and doesn't shy away from hits. He's averaging 5ypc, and he pretty much gets all his runs in 5 yard chunks. He may bust loose now and then, but he's not CJ Spiller fast to take it to the house. Rather, just give him the rock 30ish times a game, and he'll pretty much get you 5 every time. The O can really set a nice pace with him as the back. It's been a long while since Clemson has had a physical ground game. The shift for years was speed, still kinda is, but there is a new emphasis on run blockers on the O-line, and bigger 200+ pound guys at RB. One of the redshirt guys is 5'11" / 230lbs.

Mizzou has an 18 year old as their starting qb for the foreseeable future. Probably an upgrade over the former starter but will still likely make tons of mistakes. Big game this weekend against Florida. It is our homecoming and it is a night game. The place will be bumping. Hopefully the offense makes an appearance.

Not sure how I feel about Clemson jumping to #6. I think I may put LSU, A&M, and maybe even Florida State ahead of them. For the latter, that may sound weird, but FSU has dominated Clemson lately. They're better until proven otherwise.

USC's kind of like the Cowboys to me: I neither like nor hate them, they're just another team, but I understand why a lot of people really hate them. Of course, it doesn't help their cause when a lot of USC fans are also Raiders fans. Old poster pearljamfan80 was awesome in that regard that he's a USC & Broncos fan.
