I love TMW and 7:00, seem like completely different songs to me.

I would almost think a song like Amongst The Waves or Infallible are more comparable to Seven O'Clock...in the sense that i think the intention was that they would all be mid album anchors/anthems, etc.
Seven O'Clock however blows the other two out of the water.

7 O'Clock is leagues better than tuneless, plodding Thumbing My Way

Yeah those feel like the closest comps. Thematically similar, too
I like all 3 but seven o’clock is the best of the group

I might have missed this, but what's the best take on "there's still a fire in the engine room... knows relief will be coming soon"??

It’s just a great metaphor for the persistence of hope

Who Ever Said has become my favorite on the album, but I think I'm pretty sure this has become #2 for me. I give WES the advantage on music/tone, but I think WES, Dance, and 7:00 all have top tier lyrics for PJ. I feel like 7:00 is a song that would fit on the classic rock stations that persist (and that I"m still fond of!), except for those great lyrics. Either way, the "freedom" & "butterfly" verses are as good as any lyrics in Eddie's history.

This song reminds of Go. It is the vocal cadence.

My initial thought was confusion, but I hear what you mean.

This song reminds me of Go. In that it’s the best song on its album.

This is one of my favorites on the album, only behind Comes Then Goes. Love the vocal cadences in the verses.

Verses r like a quicker Unthought Known with a chorus that are like Sleight Of Hand. Throw in a bit of Army Reserve in between.
Followed by a big Into the wild style outro.
I wish this one had a different title “Mutant Messages” “Lost Eloquence” or “Death To Despondency”
