I'm going to see this again this week. I was encouraged by Ensign saying the second viewing was better. I was overwhelmed visually, I need to pay attention more to some character issues I had. Also, I sure do love Javier Bardem.

I'm watching this from my phone and I gotta say, I expected much better quality from this director. Poor film and audio quality and some weird choices, including shadows of people at the bottom of the screen at times. Sometimes the screen even went completely black. I know this director is artsy but this just doesn't make sense.

after extensive internet research I have learnt that the version i saw was a "filmed" version of the film. As in, somebody took in a video camera and filmed it from the movie theatire. What a day and age we live in. I still enjoyed it quite a bit and will still probably see it in a movie theatre soon.

Dune 1 is somehow even better looking than I remembered. And I say that after watching it on my TV after having only seen it in the theater during it's initial theatrical run.
Really looking forward to part 2 tomorrow.

Part 2 has some very cool and gorgeous shots. I liked it visually, and i thought it was better than 1 in that term too.

I thought this was great. The love story didn't seem all that convincing as they rushed it along, but I think the alternative of dedicating more screen time to their developing romance would've been worse, so I'll take it.
Looked and sounded incredible.

My brother in Christ, he spent the back half of the movie yelling shit and fighting people. This legitimately makes zero sense as a criticism.

Stilgar being all:
- Spoiler: show
- AS IT WAS WRITTEN! OMG THEY WROTE THAT!!

...every five minutes was approaching unintentional comedy, but otherwise excellent.

I think Stilgar is intentionally funny

His one-liners, absolutely. But everything about him? I don't know, man.

Maybe Denis pushed the joke too far, hit it too many times

I saw a still from the movie yesterday, i think he is even in a fight and he looks like he just woke up. Maybe he has a problem with his eyes that affects also his acting.

This movie seems to be all over TikTok. The actors doing interviews or bits, or fans reviewing it. Can't remember that for any other movie.

I am so glad another movie actually this great is so culturally relevant. With this' and Oppenheimer's success, I have faith in humanity yet.
