while i agree that its dumb for me to want to know right now even though it doesnt to much but to ease my mind, is there a huge difference in wanting to know now on the tickets and hunting out leaks of songs that we will all easily hear in a couple of months anyway?

It's just another way to frustrate fan club members.
And they don't and it takes this long cos they're cross checking they're ticket requests with their naughty boy lists. Count on it.
But talking about a "leak" is not against any policy. If they are truly singling out people because we are talking about a soundchecked song that may or may not have been a new song, then I'm getting a lawyer.

I wouldn't imagine a distinction is made between talking about it and passing it around.
It's copyrighted material and basically stolen. Proving they use this method might be tricky but my own experience says they do. They're well within their rights to, as old school as the thinking behind it might be.

Who is to say there aren't a few of us talking about a fake song just to be able to rickroll the masses?

What rights? Show me a reference to those rights?

Maybe they can redo "Know Your Rights" on the upcoming tour for the fan club members.

For as douchey as they are, they wouldn't risk this.

They're also an independent band with a for profit fan club. Marketing something as a fair lottery and then manipulating that lottery would leave them open to a lawsuit from pretty much any individual who applied for and did not get tickets to every single one of their choices.

I used to agree, but now I don't. The new system absolutely reduces your chances at getting tickets to more than one show and, in practice, makes it less likely that you'll even manage to get that. I'm kind of ambivalent as to whether that's a good or bad thing, it doesn't really affect me either way, but I presume it was a conscious choice to spread the ticket distribution around a lot more.

10C wrote: 1:46pm Pacific: The drawing for Leg #1 of the N. American Tour is complete. Cards get processed one at a time. Once a member's card is charged, his/her "My Tickets" page will be updated to show their drawing status.

Due to the number of tickets we were able to acquire for these shows, it will take several hours to complete each transaction, so your patience is appreciated.

Once all Leg #1 winners are completely charged, we'll update this page and move on to charging cards for Leg #2.

No, it isn't. As everyone else said, I'm positive they're not doing that. If they don't want you to get tickets, they would cancel your membership (which has happened in the past.)

Cool. They can't win anyways cos they have a finite amount of tickets and limited possibility of making it fair for everyone. Whole thing could be avoided if they jut went GA with the entire floor.

I think they should just get out of running the fanclub ticketing altogether, let Ticketmaster (or whoever) handle it but allow members to have first shot at the tickets using a code, etc.

From memory, that was the approach they used for the 2011 Canadian shows and it seemed to work out fine.
