I like that PJ is doing videos again and I usually prefer videos where bands are playing on stage (as opposed to the middle of the desert or something). That being said the MYM video doesn't do anything for me. I don't even think the guitars are plugged in. One of my favorite things about Ed on stage is that he does not use wireless mics. On the other hand I think the feel of the Sirens video enhances the song. I am rambling now. Not a big fan of the MYM video but do like the song.

The actual performance of Sirens isn't amazing on the video imo. It has some great parts but ultimately I love the video's style but it was rusty.

Performance pieces are fine but these are the guys that put out one of the greatest concept videos of all time. Would it kill them to put a little imagery into a video again?

Well, there was a bit in MYM. But I agree.

I'm currently watching Unplugged. Sometimes I forget they used to be this band...

MYM would have been better as a full animation, especially given that Sirens was just a (nice) recording of the band playing the song in shadows. I liked the animation in MYM but the interspersion of a hodge podge of images that looked like someone had done a youtube search for 'disasters' was a bit disappointing. It was, however, better than Fixer and Life Wasted and Ed's Can't Keep video (had to be ironic??). The ATW and UK videos were also a bit throwaway - at least they put some effort into these.

all animation would have been pretty cool.

I was OK with the MYM video even with the stock images. But a visually consistent video for Sirens would've been even cooler. The thing is, the song is as "plain" as day, and obviously boring to many people. A cool video might've grabbed their attention more. As it is, it's even more nakedly honest, which, if I know Pearl Jam well enough, is probably what they wanted.

I think a concept video might have made Sirens worse. Making the song feel authentic was probably critical.

Yeah Sirens is a song they could have easily overthought when it came to the video. There were so many opportunities for it to be a trainwreck, so I'm glad they kept it simple. I don't need them underlining anything for me.

Good points. Subtlety was probably the best way of underplaying the rock ballad feel of it. The black shirts lends it some sophistication in a subtle way. Also Jeff's Lightning Bolt T-shirt is a nice little touch of something fun and irreverent.

I forgot about this. I love that if you couldn't understand him you'd swear that this was a heartwrenching ballad, yet he's singing about pissing on a supermarket. Completely straight faced too.

I kinda wish it was a real song, i like the melody.

Have I missed this being posted somewhere else?

Pretty cool video, certainly made me crave an SVT 2 (as contradictory as that title would be). It's structured a little oddly in that they often use the interview question being asked as a punchline and you only get some small part of the response/answer. Bit irritating when it is a decent question.
