I wish there was something more interesting going on in the intro.
Why does this band not write cool intros anymore? It's always like four chugs of the riff, then first verse!

So am I now doing a song a day leak for myself till I get a good copy. I staretd with this track yesterday. What a great opener and rocker, probably one of the best track they wrote in the last 10-11 years.

Yeah, even a false start lead-in or "warm up" a la Go or Last Exit would be so welcome.

im pretty much in love w/ this song right now. its my new "morning song" to wake me up in the am. this might be the first time the "return to form" line matches the song.
I guess we have bathmats that color, but ... seems weird to photo something against a bathmat. So, carpet?
That's really really red carpet.

Its weird that this is an ed song, it doesn't sound like an ed song to me. Though I know nothing about songwriting.

I think it would have been fair to give Jeff half the writing credits. He wrote the bassline which is half of Ed's vocal line.

That would make a mess of credits if it was applied to all of their songs. Also i'm sure a lot of people were given credits for that line before Jeff because it's hardly original.

It probably would get a little complicated. It's just that Jeffs Vignette makes it sound like Ed only brought in the riff and nothing else. Not even vocals yet. That's also not really that much.

That's why the liner notes are not the best thing to go by. They seem to, more often than not, just give the writing credit to whoever had the initial idea for the song even when it goes through an extensive writing process with the band. That's fine, but it's hardly informative when figuring out how a song really came to be.

At this moment in PJ's career, I'm really not interested to find out who brought each song to completion. I hate to think what we'd find out.
