"From the volunteer amputee?" Great rasp and delivery on that. I love it like I love Brain of J. Classic Pearl Jam.

Seems like a sarcastic picture. But he's right, MFS kicks ass.

"My Father's Son" is the "No Way" of this album for me. I'm not saying they are comparable in terms of song quality... but, aside from both being the 3rd song on the album, I really really like both of them, but I need to be in a particular mood to listen to them. Neither are songs that I can just throw on in a mix for background tunes.

So, the radio just played that shitty Heart song, All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You, and I had a thought:
What if Ed's character in My Father's Son was the illegitimate child being created and sung about in the Heart song?

I'm going to go ahead and merge this with the official thread for the song, as found doing a quick search in the PJ chat index thread at the top of the PJ chat page.

I'm not sure I even like this song. I have enjoyed it and thought it the best song of the album but the last listen left me cold, colder than Sirens.

Would that make him Cameron Crowe's kid? 'Coz "I come from a genius" poses some problems.
No, because she stepped out on him to get knocked up because he was sterile.

What if the homeless guy she bones in the song was the homeless guy from Even Flow?!?

But wait -- Crowe's wife actually cheated on him, or the character in the song cheater on her husband?
The character in the song cheated on her husband to get pregnant because the husband was shootin' blanks.
