Re: MLB
Of course. How is he suspended for hitting a guy, but not thrown out of the game? He wasn't even issued a warning after the first few pitches, which was pretty obvious.@SkitchP wrote:Fuck You Jobu wrote:Dempster suspended 5 games for beaning Arod.

I'm not fan of Arod and if anymore deserves a beaning, it's him, but this should have been stopped after 1 pitch...
MLB really is clueless.

Re: MLB
I don't think you should blame the MLB for suspending him when he wasn't ejected, you should blame the ump for not doing something about it. A warning should have been issued after the first pitch and that probably would have ended everything. That the ump only issued a warning after the beaning was a joke.Fuck You Jobu wrote:Of course. I get liking A-Rod getting hit, but Dempster comes out of this looking like a complete douche to me.

I would have had some respect for Dempster if he had come out and said he hit A-Rod on purpose. Lying about his intent just puts him on the same level as A-Rod, Selig, the Yankess management.....philpritchard wrote:I get liking A-Rod getting hit, but Dempster comes out of this looking like a complete douche to me.

I don't like Arod getting hit, or anyone - big time against that.
But yeah Dempster looks like a fuckin douche - He was like that on the Cubs too.
It does put him up there with Arod, Selig, MLB, umps, ..... This is why I have a hard time staying interested in MLB...

Yes. If you're going to hit someone on purpose have the gonads to own up to it. I hated playing sports with someone who would cheap shot someone and the lie about it. As it went down, Dempster didn't make any kind of stand for baseball, himself or integrity. Instead, he was the sullen teenager who tried to be cool for his friends and when he got caught, he lies about it.4/5 wrote:Are you serious?surfndestroy wrote:I would have had some respect for Dempster if he had come out and said he hit A-Rod on purpose. I'd have a lot more respect for Dempster if he said "I don't like what A-Rod is bringing to the game. I don't like his lies and cheating. I don't like the way this has been handled by him, the league, the Yankees, the union . I will plunk A-Rod once a game, every game until I think all parties are acting professionally and with the respect baseball deserves. And should Selig ever get in the batter's box, you damn well bet I'll plunk him too. If they don't like hearing the truth, they can suspend me but I'm just trying to stand up for the game of baseball in the only way I know how."

Re: MLB
when you say yankees do you meant the players on the team or the organization. not that it matters much there are several other clubs out there who have let the same things go.
giants
cardinals
cubs
orioles
arizona
cinici
cleveland
detroit
KC
dodgers
twins
mets
oakland
philly
san diego
seattle
tampa
texas
houston
pittsburgh
washington
all these clubs and the league turned a blind eye to the rampant use over the last decade(s) and im willing to bet most players on the every day roster knew it was going on but didnt say shit about it.
but now all of a sudden because the most hated man in baseball is at the center of it everyones crying foul

Not sure where you got that list or if it's just off the top of your head, but Boston won championships with Manny and Ortiz and the Jays had Clemens and Canseco on the same team in the late 90s. You probably should have just written every team out.

I still love A-Rods response when someone asked him if he thought Dempster should get suspended...
"Im the wrong guy to be to be asking about suspensions" (laughter) "holy mackerel wow"
actually put his guard down for a min there lol

I still question Rickey Henderson... he played with Canseco, and Big Mac... and never lost his speed into his 40s (and probably still has it) its not like roids only give you power for homers

If I thought the "he played with..." argument carried any kind of validity, I could implicate literally every play for the last 30 years.MadTIGERmaN wrote:I was shocked he didnt put the Brewers on after the whole Braun saga...philpritchard wrote:Not sure where you got that list or if it's just off the top of your head, but Boston won championships with Manny and Ortiz and the Jays had Clemens and Canseco on the same team in the late 90s. Re: MLB
The Mets have some pitches coming to them apparently.
Eric Young ended Tim Hudsons season by crushing his ankle a couple of weeks ago, now Jonathan Niese threw a fastball that hit Heyward in the face.
There's really no retaliation that would hurt the Mets though more than simply being the Mets.

The thing with Henderson is, didn't Canseco come out and say he had no knowledge of Rickey doing them, and same thing was said by Dave Henderson. Dave Henderson also said that everyone in that clubhouse knew who was doing them and who wasn't.MadTIGERmaN wrote:I was shocked he didnt put the Brewers on after the whole Braun saga...philpritchard wrote:Not sure where you got that list or if it's just off the top of your head, but Boston won championships with Manny and Ortiz and the Jays had Clemens and Canseco on the same team in the late 90s. Also, I'll have to find the quote, but when Rickey was being inducted into the HoF, someone from MLB's front offices made a statement about how when Rickey was still playing well into his 40's he was being tested all the time.
