I never expected No Code to sit at the top of the list; it'd never even really been in my top 3 before, and Yield and/or Vitalogy was at the top for a long time, but it for some reason has made a huge impact on me in the past few months.

Re: RANK THE ALBUMS
I disagree strongly with you, and I can tell you exactly how it is that people can do so: this uniquely personal thing called "opinion"Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Yield is a collection of strong, well-written & well-recorded songs. Self-titled is a collection of generic, poorly-written and badly-recorded crap. That's why S/T belongs at the bottom and Yield at the top. I can't even imagine how anyone could find them "equals", but leave it to stip.

Re: RANK THE ALBUMS
1. I don't think either Yield or S/T sound "generic".
2. As far as how "well-written" something is, that's all a matter of opinion. I think Army Reserve is a way more well-written song than most of what's on Yield. Conversely, I think most of Yield is better written than Comatose.
3. No one will argue on recording quality. Self-titled is transparent in its awful sound quality.
Other than point #3, why does it matter if someone (like me or stip) happens to really like Self-Titled?
I'm temporarily giving up on ranking. I love Pearl Jam albums. All of them.

After seeing your blanket approval of SNC's mix I have a much harder time respecting your opinions. I feel a little emptier as a result.
