is it? I had to look it up. What the fuck is an alford plea? I wondered if it was like a johnny guitar.

For those who don't know, it means that you plead guilty (as in there is evidence to convict you) but you deny an admission of guilt.

it's what echols, et al., had to plead to be free. i don't doubt that ed would consider writing a song about that, but such a direct title just raised my eyebrow as opposed to making me think it is legit. it's an easy way to give credence to the list. there's bushleaguer, so it's not unprecedented, but a direct title like that is a rare breed of title in the pearl jam world.
