How great has Fleury been? He's going to have to double up on those sport psychologist sessions this week.Peeps wrote:How great the isles got called for a dive

fluery let in two bad goals tonight
the rest is on the team to get the puck out and not cause odd man rushes from in front of the net
and shink, dont think ive noticed how quiet you have been about the crosby penalty when its right there in front of your face, it is duly noted

Unfortunately for Fleury the two soft goals were what decided the game.

Whooohooooo!, now we got a series. There were alot of dives, Nabakov diving and Cooke laughing on his way to the penalty box was hilarious.

Just to make sure I don't have this backwards, are you saying he doesn't deserve the bad rep because he's played well? If that's the case, I obviously agree. I think most Toronto fans realize how good he's been, though.elliseamos wrote:every game i've seen the leafs this year i've wondered why phaneuf has the rep he currently carries.
That sign has nothing to do with "Leafs fans." That was just one idiot. I only heard the anthems on the radio as I was heading to a friend's place to watch the game, but I didn't hear a single boo. Either way, we're coming off a game in Boston where a Leafs fan was punched in the back of the head and knocked out cold after the game. I'm sure we can all just agree that a high percentage of sports fans are morons.numbers wrote:Booing the US anthem and the Toronto Stronger sign were a classy touch by Leafs fans though.

Why I hate yinzers. I have seen people say that Fluery has to go. not benched for the next game, i mean gone as in never play for the pens again. It's pure stupidity and ignorant talk to say that. Want him benched for a game so he can watch Vokuun and see how the islanders are playing from a different perspective?
I am perfectly fine with that. But if you are going to bench Fluery for his mistakes (and two of the goals were back breakers for sure) then bench Malkin. He has made just as many costly mistakes that led to those goals and is ever bit at fault for them as the Flower.
There were at least 4 stupid plays that Malkin had in one period that at this point is in his career should be a thing of the past and if it weren't for the Isles getting called for embellishment it would have led to another power play.

Re: NHL Thread
Good points peeps, both teams now are clearly putting on the sell jobs, that why I liked that they just let them play in the third period. Both goaltenders have been so-so this series. Nabakov just had a better third period last night. The worst goal MAF gave up last night was the third goal, with less then 2 minutes, u can't give up that bad goal, it gave the ilses some jusice going into the third period.Peeps wrote:Why I hate yinzers. Re: NHL Thread
Malkin's mistakes haven't cost Pittsburgh games, Fleury's untimely soft goals have. He's literally the only reason the Islanders are in this series. How many times have the Islanders scored from behind the net? Another good reason would be Vokoun's career numbers against the Islanders: 17-7-0, 1.95 GAA, .937 sv%, 5 SO. His last start against the Islanders was a 35 save shutout. The last guy the Islanders want to see in net right now is Vokoun.Peeps wrote:Why I hate yinzers. This is kind of funny. My first thought was how the hell does he fit into an Aston Martin? Based on this letter, he seems like a reasonable guy, so I have to assume his car is getting banged up pretty bad.
Condo parking flap frosts Zdeno Chara
Wednesday, May 8, 2013
By:
Gayle Fee, Inside Track
Bruins captain Zdeno Chara has confounded the Toronto Maple Leafs, but 33 can’t quite seem to put a check on the hard-driving visitors, workers and neighbors in his condo complex who are constantly slashing, spearing and high-sticking his sweet Aston Martin!
And the hockey hero is also more than a little miffed that he can’t always find a place to park his cars on the water side of the building, forcing him to beach them on the “garbage side” of the complex!
Chara aired his auto grievances in a letter to fellow tenants at Union Wharf, the waterfront condo complex the big defenseman has called home for the past seven years.
“Our family really enjoys this building, people and location where we live,” Chara wrote. But, he added, he has had “numerous issues with our parking lot.”
Among them: “I have experienced many scratches, dings dents and damages from other cars that we see coming here for construction work, meetings, visits ...,” he continued.
“How many times have you experienced, as I have, that there is no space available to park, forcing you to park on the other side (garbage side) of the parking lot or far away from your townhouse? This can be very uncomfortable or frustrating late at night, in rainy or cold weather and also when carrying groceries.”
The solution, Chara proposes, is to move guest parking, construction vehicles, deliveries, daily parkers and owners who have a second space to the north side — i.e. the “garbage side” — of the complex and keep the south side for residents only.
Z would like to discuss the matter at the residents’ meeting tonight. But word from Union Wharf is that not all of his neighbors are on board.
“It’s the city,” sniffed one. “Your car is constantly going to get dinged. Anyway, he should be worrying about hockey, not his car.”
But PR guru George Regan, whose offices are in the Union Wharf building, said Chara’s got a legit gripe.
“Union Wharf is a beautiful place to live,” he said, “but unfortunately it could use a good driver’s ed program.”
