i keep feeling like i wish more was happening, yet a lot is happening. ugh, they still seem to have a long way to go in a short amount of time.

Yeah, I loved it. It's probably my favorite so far of S5, part II.

Rather than spending all my time trying to predict where the plot will go (which I definitely sucked at the first 5 seasons), I keep trying to forecast how they'll structure the remaining episodes, like when in the next 4 episodes will we catch up to the events of the flash-forward? How long a period of time will we see following the events of the flash-forward?

UGH. They're making a Colombian version of the show. Ridiculous.

I was really afraid before we knew hank showed up that they really were doing a "jesse changed his mind" type thing

Yeah, actually. He thought Jesse had "changed his mind,' remember??
Hearing a still psychopathic Jesse threaten his family made him realize Jesse would continue to be a threat. I dont think it was the "threatening him" because Jesse didnt really threaten him, he threatened his family.

I think, until that moment in the plaza, Walt thought he could talk Jesse down. Walt felt he could always manipulate Jesse to do what he wanted.

Walt making that phone call might be the single biggest change/shift in character we've seen on this show. Not only is Walt actually considering harming Jesse for the first time, but I think he's shaken by Jesse. I won't go so far as to say afraid of him, but I'll say he's afraid of the possibility of Jesse Pinkman. He's lost control. But more importantly, he knows it.

It's fascinating. I really wish we had more than four hours to explore these new dynamics. But they are volatile dynamics. They can't possibly last. So, it's probably better this way. But I'm loving these new shifts.

thanks for explaining, makes much more sense to me now. it also makes me wonder if jesse is also looking to burn hank now too. there's no love lost in doing something that will bring both men, who have tried to manipulate jesse, down.

i see no way this does not end with anything other than a mexican standoff between walt, hank, and the aryan brotherhood. we know walt will be heavily armed.
