This thread needs some classing up, all this Stickguy posts is shitty nu-metal from wash ups.
The new Opeth bores me just like all their other 70’s prog tribute albums, but they just announced a 2020 US tour and date #1 is Cleveland, so I’ll be there.
The new Car Bomb album
There’s a new Boris album too but I’ve not heard it yet.

I don’t like much nu-metal, especially stuff like Disturbed. I like Deftones and Seven Dust though.

new BORIS eh? pleasedontsuckpleasedontsuckpleasedontsuckpleasedontsuck
I listened to the new Opeth once and it didn't do much for me. And I like their newer proggy stuff. Guess maybe I need some more time with it.

I saw someone compare the new Opeth to Porcupine Tree and that's a fucking wild take. I haven't heard any of their new stuff (Opeth) but if it has changed that much that's crazy.

Most Opeth albums since Heritage sound a lot like Steven Wilson’s solo output after Porcupine Tree disbanded.
Both basically sound like 70’s prog tribute bands now.

I haven't listened to an entire Opeth album since Watershed. Did they change their sound that much?

Yeah, beginning with the album after Watershed, they basically got rid of all the metal guitar tones and there's zero harsh vocals. It's been that way ever since.

Ozzy's cancelled his entire 2020 tour.

I didn’t go to that Opeth concert. I watched videos of it on Youtube though, too much new prog-peth, not enough classic metal tunes.

From The Fall, a little known Seattle band. Their only album, Entropy released in 2005 is still one of my favorite metal albums.

This song is always thrilling no matter how many times I hear it, truly one of the greatest riffs ever composed

I enjoyed those but feel in both the guitars are a little too produced and processed. Lately I've been jonesing for Powerage style raw guitar. Have any newer bands a little more raw than these two?
