I've only seen Barry Lyndon once, if you can believe it. There's another one I really need to see again. It seems to have really risen in the popular estimation over the last decade

yeah, i'd stick barry lyndon higher & jacket much lower. the problem here is kubrick was god-tier the whole way

Outside of 2001 being my personal favorite, I just have no idea how to rank his work. It's all fucking brilliant. At least the stuff I've seen.

yeah, me too. The only one i saw in the theatre when it premiered. I was what...16? I also saw The Shining a few years ago, 35mm copy. Beautiful work.

I’ve seen it two or three times and remember James Woods in a trench coat in the desert, and that’s about it. I’ll give it another shot at some point, maybe it’ll take a place above Dark Star or Christine
