I don't buy it. You can make an argument that it's overrated but weakest link? Come on.

I like the drone at the end of BUTOW but the rest is kinda ho hum.
Opening with Switch Opens totally changes the mood of the record. And for the better. Build this sequence and see if you can improve on it.
On a related note, if Soundgarden open their next album with the first single from that album then I'm going to be .

Tighter, Overfloater and Zero Chance are the best songs from DOTU. But if they Tier 1 then Switch Opens, Dusty and An Unkind are Tier 1A.

but i like that they're all at the end. the album enters a completely different atmosphere right there at the end.

I love Dotu. Its a masterpiece...Zero Chance and Boot Camp are two of the saddest songs ever written.

It sure does.
Songs that I don't really like from this one are Rhinosaur (that riff is not quite there and the lyrics in the verses are not good, I think the arrangement needed to be much much heavier), No Attention (the Self Pollution Radio performance had a spark that this one doesn't) and Never named (seems like the SG archetype of a non-album tune).

i'm a fan of rhinosaur, but i agree on those other two tracks. sometimes i'm not in the mood for ty cobb either.

Switch Opens
Dusty
Never The Machine Forever
Bleed Together
Ty Cobb
Burden In My Hand
Blow Up The Outside World
Christi
Zero Chance
Overfloater
Tighter & Tighter
Boot Camp
This slays. Only downside is I miss the Zero Chance=>Dusty transition.

LOL @ Christi. Love how you shoehorned that one in there, man.
You used Bleed Together over Karaoke? Your SG credentials are taking a major hit here.

Switch Opens really is the ideal opener though, isn't it?

I've just realised that I've not actually listened to DOTU the whole way through....

Is Karaoke that good? You know how sometimes with bands there are just b-sides you don't get around to, maybe just to keep a couple of things still undiscovered? Well, there you go.

Well, here we go. DeLima explores Karaoke for the first time.
