Lol u got me. So dedicated to the schtick that I've been adding at least a mile a week for the last seven weeks on my weekly efforts. Before 6am most mornings.Dev wrote:Reid was shticking.
You relate the things you half really feel through shtick becsuse you can't be vulnerable.washing machine wrote:Lol u got me. i don't know if this is Pavement reference (Summer Babe), but i want to believe it is.washing machine wrote:You're right, that's what a lot of schtick is, but this is the running thread. A place to share the joy, pride, frustration, victory, failure, and shoes of our running experience. The board is full of places for us to schtick, but not here babe.

Got that 10k this morning. Felt great aside from some heavy, muddy shoes after stepping thru a construction site on mile 4.ghost wrote:I say unless the 10k goal is really important to you, do whatever seems most sustainable to you long term. Running > not running. The longer distances will come eventually.washing machine wrote:Currently deciding whether or not to push harder next week or scale back then build on that for rest of July. I am at close to 15 mile weeks at this point and I recover well from my runs. I go for 4 runs a week, a bike day, a cross train day of pushups etc, and a rest day.
I would like to get to a 10k by the end of this month, but I just don't want to overdo it and burn out. Done that too many times. Feel like a good goal next week would be something closer to 10-12 miles with some time doing short runs on my barefoot shoes (which need very low mileage lest I burn up my calves.)
Any advice appreciated here. Should I keep pushing past 15 mile weeks til I get to the 10k run goal or give myself a "down week?"
