He saves the day all through the prequels the animated series and the OT
It’s criminal who he’s been left aside. Ok he’s had important and vital moments. But you can have him in it for him and still give him those moments.
I can’t even tell who he’s with now. He’s just sorta there. Neglected. I hate that

I love BB8 and I'm glad he's the "featured" droid. But, yeah, I miss R2 and I hate how he's been relegated to an afterthought -- especially by JJ. It looks lie 3PO is gonna get a real send-off (obviously speculating here). And that's great. But to me R2 is far more important and vital to the saga. If 3PO gets a big goodbye and R2 doesn't get anything... that will be a bummer, to me. Not a deal breaker, obviously. But a real bummer.

Most won't agree with me, but...
R2 > Luke Skywalker
Just saying

R2 has the whole story all of it in his memory.
All of it.
In fact I’d say that might be the opener for the next trilogy. How do we beat the new evil? This little droid has all the events stored in in his brain!
R2 is probably my favorite character.
That scene with him meeting Luke again on the falcon will always make me cry and laugh.
Hey! Sacred island watch the language!
And then he shows him Leia
Crafty little bugger. He is the heart of Star Wars.

disney market research showed that BB8-related merchandise projected to produce 17.3% more revenue than comparable R2D2 offerings

It IS JJ Abrams and he’s known for recycling of ideas.

Only ship I ever owned. My gran brought and glen on the train to Northern Ireland (cheaper shopping at the time) bought us both x wings and we had them out on the train home holding them up to the window as the landscape flew by to make it look like they were flying.
I had the battle damage stickers an never knew why anyone woul put them on, makes your x wing look all beat up and shit.
Now. I’ll weather the ever living shit out of anything to make it look beaten up:)
I wish I still had that x wing. Such a genius simple design.
Push down on R2s head to open S foils for attack position

Speaking of droids, it’s weird that through 4 - 7 we had r2 and c3p0 as them main droid characters. I think that held true for eps 1-3 as well.
Now with 7 you added bb8. Episode 8, no new one unless you count evil bb8. Then in 9 they add another droid, this d-o droid.
It’s like the Batman movie syndrome where each movie added more villains until it was a clusterf*ck

The good thing about having a brother was we could each get different ships instead of doubling up. If I got a y-wing he’d get the snowspeeder. I get the rebel cruiser he gets the imperial shuttle.
I need to get to the basement and see what I have left. Those we some great toys. Love the rebel cruiser came with extra weapons and accessories for your action figures.

C3PO —-> R2D2
Very happy he’s getting a lot of focus now, and was great to fead about him in Bloodline. He was very special to Leia.
