I think sound quality matters alot, it just was not the same listening on a computer through youtube, totally different actually. I guess that's why most artists don't debut things live anymore.

I was one of them. Nobody wants to like new PJ more than me (no one), but as I said above...

Obviously being at the show counts for a lot... excitment, adrenalin. But I think I would've thought the performance wasn't great, whether on Youtube or not.

I held off listening to this until now because I kept trying to get away to buy it. I finally broke down and downloaded it today. My first impression:



It sounds like Coldplay. I do not want Pearl Jam to sound like Coldplay.

Say what you want. It sounds like Coldplay to me. I'll give it a few more chances but the album falls off a cliff for me after "My Father's Son".

"Sirens" sounds like an outtake from A Rush of Blood to the Head but with EV singing. The difference - I like A Rush of Blood to the Head . I do not like this at all.

So one song out of 12 makes it sound like Coldplay?

At least that's a first. Everyone else has been comparing it to an 80s power ballad.
