I have a question.
We thought Palpatine had perished.

Presumably he gets vanquished this time. How do we Know he stays vanquished?
Because they aren't doing any more Skywalker movies?

I did know this. But I only found out recently. I learned it while listening to Wondery's "Inside Star Wars" pod that aired this past June.

I didn’t want to bring up your unhealthy fixation with that droid. I had hoped you’d got help with that given the thread in question had faded away :)

-** did you ever get that black series Chopper? It’s really cool

C3PO was named after a post office which is located at reference C3 on a map of Lucas' hometown.

Was this the big celebrated one a while back that dramatized it all and had Brian de Palma berating George and all that?

I have no idea. I liked the pod. It's cheesy but has great info and is very digestible. It's typical Wondery (not necessarily a good thing) but I really enjoyed it for what it was. Having not read any of the making of books, it was a good way to consume some of that info, even when it was annoying or clumsy. I wouldn't recommend it to hardcore SW fans, though. It's certainly not for everyone.
