The theme song from Dead Don't Die is such a blissful piece of raw country awesomeness.

Would you rather listen to that or Franklin’s Tower by the Grateful Dead?
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

The jarring transition from Planet Caravan to Iron Man is awesome.

Good point. Especially with me.

I just hate the song. I can't help it. Never liked it. Always found it exhausting.

That song is embedded in my head with camping out for PJ tix in early 95. God I hate it. Yet it evokes feelings.

One spring a few years back I saw a FB ad for Art Alexakis playing a theater show in Macon, Georgia (of all places) and tickets were like $15. It was one Saturday where I had no plans so I figured "what the heck?" after Googling to be sure that was the guy from Everclear.
The theater was in a revitalized/gentrified part of town. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the area was. It was a old movie house that was remodeled into a performance center. There was a small balcony with seats but other open general admission down front. The stage had a metal folding chair, a stand with an acoustic guitar, and a small table with a couple bottles of water. There may have been fifty, maybe only forty, people in the audience. Alexakis came out right on time and played a couple songs before talking and chatting with the crowd. Turns he was about to start rehearsals with Everclear for their summer tour with Sugar Ray and he wanted to do a small gig first. Super chill, very outgoing and self depreciating. Told some stories, like how he was just about to give up and get a real job when Santa Monica broke and he hasn't had to have a real job since. Talked about how he was already in his 30s when that happened and how he felt out of place with the younger, prettier, hipper bands. Of course he played their big hits (Santa Monica, Father of Mine, I Will Buy You a New Life, Everything to Everyone, others I recognized) and afterwards he jumped down ofF the stage and mingled with the audience. Taking pictures, signing autographs, talking to anyone who wanted to say "hello".
Turned out to be an unexpected, really cool evening with a legit '90s rock star.

That sounds pretty standard for him. He was a DJ on one of the local stations here for awhile and he always sounded like a pretty chill dude.

Listened to Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars yesterday.

I enjoyed it, but Air of December was a lot better sandwiched between Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill and Violent Femmes' Good Feeling on my 10th grade girlfriend's mixtape.
