New album: 'Platesmasher.'
maybe somebody's source was confused and the album's named Malcolm.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:Im sure its been mentioned, but maybe they are young multiple countdowns because the album will be called countdown or something like that. I think X would be better then that though
Yup. The closed hats on the intro, particularly, are really hard to explain.WtOB? wrote:I've never understood the closed hats in Severed Hand either, especially when the big riff first kicks in. It's so anti-climactic. I can forgive it in You Are, it doesn't have the same energy and it's his song so let him go.

I think they said we will be getting the single on Thursday, so this new countdown should be mind your manners and they will either give us all the album info also or they will do another countdown. And at this point i full expect when they reveal the album release date they will have another countdown until the releasedimejinky99 wrote:I'm thinking this next countdown is to album track list and a ten second clip of the song. If MYM isn't til the 17th, this seems kinda likely.
It's reassuring to know that there's at least 1 voice of reason here. Word.stip wrote:I had outsized expectations for yesterday, as did almost everyone. That was on PJ. On the other hand, now I'll enjoy the slower reveal. They are forcing foreplay on us. It sucks if you really want sex right now, but you probably wont' regret it when it is over.
(this is not me being an apologist for the band. I just think people's reactions to events should be commensurate to what actually happened). Yesterday was hardly an unqualified success. But there was some cool stuff there and, having slept on it, it was hardly a huge failure either.
i'm thinking outloud here, don't quote me.Thejambi wrote:elliseamos wrote:maybe somebody's source was confused and the album's named Malcolm.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:Im sure its been mentioned, but maybe they are young multiple countdowns because the album will be called countdown or something like that. I feel better about yesterday but it was still a "Huge" letdown. If we get the single this week then no harm done I suppose.bluestate wrote:It's reassuring to know that there's at least 1 voice of reason here. i'm looking forward to this, and would be disappointed w/o one.Thejambi wrote:I think an EPK (or whatever you call them) alone would have fully justified the week long countdown.

Yes MYM is on Thursday and I only believe this b/c several radio stations around the country have already said they'll be playing brand new PJ music.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:I think they said we will be getting the single on Thursday, so this new countdown should be mind your manners and they will either give us all the album info also or they will do another countdown. that's kind of the point of all of this.dimejinky99 wrote:Thejambi wrote:They always throw me back to a teenage fan boy state.elliseamos wrote:i'm looking forward to this, and would be disappointed w/o one.Thejambi wrote:I think an EPK (or whatever you call them) alone would have fully justified the week long countdown.
No bad thing. That's a lovely feeling when it happens.
Yea, that's what I want to know? I think some people are referring to the dinner plate symbol but I wouldn't consider that artwork that has anything to do with the album.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:What album artwork have they revealed?
Sorry, EPK?Thejambi wrote:I feel better about yesterday but it was still a "Huge" letdown. The mystery artwork as well as song snippets had a redeeming quality. Personally, I think an EPK (or whatever you call them) alone would have fully justified the week long countdown.
