Seems kind of ridiculous if I’m being honest, I’m just trying to get to the real answer

Some suspicious charges showed up on my Uber acccount, so my bank put a fraud hold on the card I use. Meanwhile, Uber customer support is terrible. First off, there isn't a phone number so I can't straighten things out with a live rep. Instead, I have to submit the issue through the app. They got back to me yesterday asking for more information (that they already have), and then nothing since. I just submitted again in hopes to get this resolved today.

hadn’t used Uber or opened the Uber app in about a year, and they automatically signed me up for their Uber monthly membership for $10/mo. I didn’t notice it for about 4 months. Opened a case through their app and it took them about a week to decide they would only refund me 50% of it.

So in the end I basically paid $20 to delete the app.

What was their justification for only refunding half?

They claimed that they couldn’t prove that I hadn’t signed up for the membership. I tried to message back, but like spike’s frustration, it’s through the app and sometimes you don’t get a response for a couple of days. After a while I just gave up and took it as a $20 lesson to not use Uber.

They are straight up dumb, lenny. Or grifters.

I sent them screen shots from their own app with all the info they requested, and they’re still claiming they cannot locate the charges.

uber became very responsive once i threatened to no longer patronize their service. clusterfuck should be resolved, confirmed they were all pending charges that's part of their reservation process or something. but hey, maybe don't fire off four in a matter of two minutes; bound to be flagged as fraud.
