Thanks man. I do this at the crack of dawn to beat the heat. No idea how you do it in full sun.

I think I probably hate myself.

Welp. I just PR'd a 5k on gravel with new trail shoes that are heavier than anything else in my rotation so I really don't know anything anymore re: shoes and performance.

finally dragged myself out yesterday...no matter how slow i had to go, my goal was to run .45 then walk .05...i did that for the first two miles, but the third mile i went like .85 before walking...overall pace was very slow for me, but i needed a warm up of sorts

You should post about the Olympics. Offering to mod a sub forum was little more than a vanity project for you, huh.

I have no thoughts on the Olympics until Kipchoge runs.

Maybe I'm the only one needs to read this, but here you go if you need it too.

The more miles I log, the more I'm beginning to think I'm a trail runner gridlocked in an urban box. Just the act of running is usually enough for me. Pace and effort are rewarding when I see improvements, but it's never really my goal when I set out. Going farther and farther, seeing more things on foot, getting into a rhythm. That's the good stuff. I get an opportunity to go once a week to a hidden-in-plain-site network of forest trails within the biggest park in this city, but even then I only have time for a few miles max. I cherish those miles. You have to run at least a mile into the woods here before the sounds of the nearby freeway disappears, and there's still the occasional plane or helicopter coming in for a landing above you. Not quiet yet, but getting there.

Feigning interest like a big ol' phoney.
