We don't even need the Democrats to take their guns. Apparently people will just walk into an airport and hand them over.

There are some weird rules about flying with guns. You are allowed one original manufacturer box of ammunition. Are people screwing this up and having their firearms seized as well?

The TSA officers also frequently screw stuff up. After it's been declared and checked at the main desk, the gun is supposed to stay in a locked container. The TSA agents pretty commonly break these locks for unclear reasons.

Alternatively, some photographers with expensive equipment will always declare a firearm (sometimes just a receiver) and store it with their equipment because it's less likely to get lost or stolen. (Use this one weird trick to not have your luggage lost)

I was trying to entertain possibilities other than people are traveling with their go bags and failing to remove their guns to other containers.

My go to duffel bag for road trips has a cased firearm in it, but I rarely travel by air so the need to pull it out has yet to come up.

I do worry that the kind of people that forget to check their firearm at the airport are the same people that leave firearms unaccompanied in their cars for easy thieving. (Also the same demographic that leaves their firearms in public restrooms)

That is terrible. People read this and will reconsider being a helpful person to strangers and trying to help other people.

On the other side, the punishment should be more severe since they took advantage of his act of kindness.
